Moms for Ohio Give Special Recognition To Those Who Led The Effort In Supporting the Pledge of Allegiance License Plate

This February, Ohio became the very first state in the nation to make a specialty license plate available to families who would like to show their support for keeping the phrase, “One Nation Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.  In Ohio, we have license plates for Cattle, for Scenic Rivers, for Pets and to show support for Life.  Now, thanks to the leadership of a few good men and the support of moms through out our state, Ohio now has one that allows families to show their support for the Pledge of Allegiance.  Unlike many specialty license plates, the Pledge of Allegiance specialty license plate has absolutely no fund raising dollars attached to it.  It does not benefit any group, nor any person.  It's simply about standing up for what is good and right, because that's what Americans do.

Family, faith and freedom are the foundation upon which this country has been built and they are the reasons for its enduring success.  It is these core beliefs that have become the very heart of the American spirit.  And it is these beliefs and values, along with the courageous service and sacrifice of so many, that has made America the kind of country that millions all over the world wish to come to, and millions thank God every day to be a part of. And that is why standing up for issues like the Pledge of Allegiance is so
very important. 

So it is with our greatest thanks and respect that we would like to commend and thank the following legislators for their support and leadership on the passage of the Pledge of Allegiance License Plate Bill:  State Senator Bob Spada  (Senate Lead Sponsor) State Representative Tom Patton (Ohio House Lead Sponsor), Senate President Bill Harris, Ohio House Speaker Jon Husted, Ohio State Representative Tom Raga and State Representative and Ohio Democratic State Chair Chris Redfern.  And last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank Brenda Kammer for designing the license plate which has already been purchased by over 6,000 Ohio families
