As moms, we were deeply touched to hear about the generosity of Mayor DePiero and the people of Parma. It's hard for any of us to imagine what it would be like to loose every single thing we own. And while it's hard enough for adults to loose all their possessions, there can be nothing more heartbreaking than to not be able to give your child a blanket to warm them or your baby a bottle to feed them. Families across the country have been deeply touched by the plight of these families and their children, but sometimes it can be difficult to know how best to help. But Mayor DePiero and the people of Parma knew how, and they quickly filled three tractor trailer trucks with supplies and sent them to those who needed them most. And that was a blessing not only for the victims of Katerina who so desperately needed help, but for all of us who live here.
As moms, we are deeply grateful to live in a community where such generosity and caring is so freely given. And we want to thank Mayor DePiero and the City of Parma for reminding us all how fortunate we are to live in such a community, and for inspiring each one of us to reach out and help those who have suffered so.
